“DESCENDANTS” — Netflix

A lot of my art is influenced by my life and who I am. My family is a piece of that. There's always a nod to someone in my life in my artwork. From the gold my dad would wear, to my mom's eclectic style.

To celebrate the release of Descendant, Netflix commissioned me to create a piece that represents what family means to me; which to me is rooted in quality time, learning and jokes from my elders, deep love, and something fire on the grill.

The documentary follows the community of Africatown in Alabama that’s equally as inspired by their family as I am, and documents their journey to reclaim their history no matter what.
